Tour Details

The journey begins on the fairways of England’s northwest coast, where rolling dunes and windswept pines welcome golfers to the timeless charm of Formby Golf Club. From there, the road leads north through the serene beauty of the Lake District, arriving in the coastal town of Ayr—gateway to one of golf’s most storied stages.

At Royal Troon, history comes alive with every shot, from the legendary “Postage Stamp” to sweeping seaside views that have hosted the game’s greatest moments. In Edinburgh, cobbled streets and castle spires create a backdrop for discovery, as the day unfolds through Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and Holyrood Palace.

Further east, the cliffs of St Andrews rise over the sea, setting the scene for a round at the spectacular Fairmont St Andrews – Torrance Course, just minutes from the Old Course itself. The final round is played at Gullane No. 1, where ancient turf and panoramic vistas mark a fitting end to the adventure.

The trip concludes with a heartfelt farewell dinner in Edinburgh, celebrating the unforgettable rounds, shared stories, and the enduring spirit of golf across the world’s most legendary landscapes.

Itinerary

Day 1The Adventure Begins

Depart the United States on an overnight flight bound for the United Kingdom. A week of iconic fairways, seaside links, and unforgettable landscapes awaits.

Day 2Arrival in England

Arrival at Manchester or Liverpool airport, followed by a drive north to the coastal town of Formby, a quiet haven along England’s golf-rich northwest shoreline. Upon arrival, settle in and unwind after the journey. The evening is ideal for adjusting to the local pace and resting ahead of the first round.

Day 3Formby Golf Club – An English Classic

Begin the golf journey at Formby Golf Club, founded in 1884 and long regarded as one of England’s finest links experiences. This historic course is consistently ranked among the top 100 in the UK & Ireland, combining fast-running fairways with pinewood framing and natural coastal dunes.

The iconic clubhouse—ranked 12th most iconic in the world—adds to Formby’s timeless appeal. Past hosts of the Amateur Championship and Arnold Palmer Cup, Formby offers history, prestige, and charm in equal measure. Enjoy the evening at leisure in Formby.

Day 4From Formby to Ayr via the Lake District

Depart Formby and travel north into Scotland. Midway through the drive, stop in the Lake District National Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its glacier-carved lakes, forested hills, and storybook villages. This scenic break offers an ideal opportunity for lunch and a relaxed stroll.

Continue the journey to Ayr, a picturesque town along Scotland’s southwest coast, known for its proximity to world-class golf and traditional seaside hospitality. Arrival by evening.

Day 5Royal Troon – Championship Challenge

Play the legendary Royal Troon Golf Club, founded in 1878 and ranked among the top 10 courses in Scotland. Royal Troon has hosted The Open Championship 10 times, including a dramatic final in 2016—and is set to welcome The Open again in 2024.

The course is famous for the “Postage Stamp” hole, a devilishly short yet world-renowned par-3 that challenges precision and nerve. With strong sea winds and true links conditions, Royal Troon is a demanding and unforgettable round. Spend the evening soaking in the atmosphere of Ayr.

Day 6From Ayr to Edinburgh – Castles, Cobblestones & Royal History

Travel east to Edinburgh, Scotland’s historic capital. Begin with a visit to Edinburgh Castle, followed by a scenic walk down the Royal Mile, lined with charming shops and centuries of history. At the end of the mile, explore Holyrood Palace, the official royal residence in Scotland.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at Melville Inn, a modern restaurant with old-world charm—perfect for a relaxed evening in the city.

Day 7St Andrews – The Home of Golf

Take a day trip to St Andrews, revered as the spiritual home of golf. The round is set at Fairmont St Andrews – Torrance Course, a cliffside layout designed by Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance. With panoramic views over the North Sea and the town’s historic skyline, this modern links has hosted European Tour events, including the Scottish Championship.

Its blend of dramatic elevation, pot bunkers, and coastal wind creates a challenging yet rewarding experience. Return to Edinburgh for a relaxed evening or optional group dinner.

Day 8Gullane Golf Club & Farewell Celebration

Venture east to Gullane, a traditional golf village overlooking the Firth of Forth. The final round takes place at Gullane No. 1, a classic links course that has hosted the Scottish Open and Ladies British Open Amateur.

Elevated tees and wide-open views define the round, as the sea breeze and ancient turf offer the final challenge of the journey. In the evening, return to Edinburgh for a celebratory farewell dinner—a fitting close to a truly remarkable golf experience.
