We kindly request that you plan to depart on either date – April 23 or April 24.
Flights to Tanzania do not operate daily from all US gateways. In addition, due to departure times and the time difference between the United States and Tanzania, you may arrive one or even two days after your departure date.
Final flight arrangements will be secured to ensure the trip begins on ground as scheduled, on April 25, regardless of the departure date. Once final flights are secured we will provide a confirmed departure date as well. Our first preference will be to keep the flights on April 24.
Arrive in Tanzania late in the evening and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. After check-in, enjoy a late dinner and time to rest following the long journey.

After an early breakfast, visit Simba’s Community Center, where you’ll learn about their locally led development approach and the programs supporting health initiatives, women’s sewing cooperatives and broader community empowerment.
Next, visit a local food market to experience where Tanzanians shop for everyday staples. Learn about regional ingredients, seasonal produce and local food culture while selecting items for the afternoon cooking class.
Later, participate in a traditional Tanzanian cooking experience, guided by locals who share recipes, techniques and stories passed down through generations.

Travel approximately 15 km from Moshi to the final village before Kilimanjaro National Park, home to the Chagga tribe.
Begin with a guided walk to nearby waterfalls, about 40 minutes away. Take time to enjoy the natural surroundings, cool waters and lush landscape.
Continue to a local coffee farm for lunch, followed by an immersive experience learning how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and prepared. Participate hands-on in the roasting and grinding process, traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances.

Begin the morning with a visit to a local fabric store to learn about traditional textiles, shopping customs and the cultural importance of locally made garments.
Later, travel to Maasai Lodge, set in a tranquil natural setting. Upon arrival, enjoy warm hospitality, scenic views and time to unwind by the pool or relax into the slower rhythm of the surroundings.

Spend the day immersed in Maasai culture and the peaceful environment surrounding the lodge. Choose to join a guided walk through Maasai lands, learning about traditions, land stewardship and daily life or enjoy leisure time at the lodge.
As the sun sets, experience traditional Maasai dancing, offering insight into cultural expression, rhythm and storytelling.

Bid farewell to the Maasai Lodge and travel to Karatu, your gateway to the safari experiences ahead. Enjoy the changing landscapes en-route as you transition from cultural immersion to wildlife exploration.

Set out for your first safari adventure in Tarangire National Park, known for its iconic baobab trees, open savannahs and abundant wildlife.
Enjoy a guided game drive led by experienced safari guides who share insights into the park’s ecosystem, conservation efforts and animal behavior. Tarangire is especially renowned for its large elephant population, along with diverse birdlife and other wildlife roaming freely in their natural habitat.
Return to Karatu in the evening.

Today’s safari takes you into Lake Manyara National park, famous for its wealth of wildlife.
Opportunity to encounter a wide range of wildlife while absorbing the sheer scale and beauty of this iconic landscape.

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Explore its diverse ecosystems, grasslands, forests and a shimmering salt lake – all within the crater walls.

Drive from Karatu to Arusha Airport and fly onward to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy time to relax after the safari portion of the journey.

Begin the day exploring Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich blend of African, Arab, Indian and European influences. Walk through narrow alleys, admire carved wooden doors and learn about the island’s history.
Continue to a spice farm to discover Zanzibar’s famed cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and other spices. Learn about cultivation methods and the island’s historic role in the spice trade.
Overnight: Stone Town
Spend the day unwinding at Paje Beach, known for its white sands, turquoise waters and relaxed coastal atmosphere. This day offers time to reflect, recharge and enjoy Zanzibar at a slower pace.
In the evening, enjoy dinner at The Rock Restaurant, set just offshore and surrounded by the Indian Ocean, before returning to Stone Town.
