Located in the forests of the Central Mountain Range, which boasts magnificent natural landscapes, today we will visit the Poas Volcano National Park. This active volcano boasts one of the largest craters in the world.
Later head to Rescate Animal, a non-profit foundation dedicated to conserving Costa Rica’s wildlife. The animal sanctuary and wildlife conservation center is the oldest of its kind with 30 years of experience in rehabilitating wildlife, breeding endangered species, preserving habitat, and providing lifetime care.
We will spend the day at the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park is the most popular nature tour in the San Jose Area featuring Five Famous Waterfalls and the largest animal sanctuary in Costa Rica. It is by far the best place to see wildlife in Costa Rica.
From San Jose we head to Monteverde, one of the country’s major ecotourism destinations.
The area is home to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, referred to by National Geographic as “the jewel in the crown of cloud forest reserves”.
Have some time today to explore this beautiful town and its surroundings.
Today we will explore the forest canopy wildlife on a treetop canopy suspension bridge tour. The suspension bridges offer the best angle to observe the beauty of the cloud forest and heighten possibilities to spot endemic and iconic species that call the forest home.
You will also have a chance to either zipline, zig-zagging through the cloud forest on 13 cables for a total of 2.2 miles of pure fun or go on the Reptile and Amphibian Exhibition Guided tour. In the afternoon you will have time to explore the town of Santa Elena or rest.
This morning we start early and head to Jaco. Once we arrive, we will check-in to our hotel. After a bit of rest, we head to the beach and head out for a sunset cruise.
This morning, we will get picked up early from the hotel. We board a catamaran and start our journey to Tortuga Island, a deserted island located just off the coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, a paradise like no other. Breakfast will be served on the catamaran today.
We spend the day at Tortuga Island snorkeling, watching the sea life and relaxing at the beach.
Start our last day in Jaco early with a guided tour through Manuel Antonio National Park, which contains a charming combination of rainforest, beaches, and coral reefs.
These beaches are the most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forests. The forest is home to 2 and 3-fingered sloths, toucans, iguanas, the rare and adorable squirrel monkeys, millions of colorful little crabs, and much more.
Afterwards we will travel back to San Jose. Later in the evening we will get together for our Farewell dinner.
